Gir Cow is a world renowned cattle breed that traces its origins back to India. Being a very heavy breed, this cow has a truly unique and proportionate appearance with well developed udders. This breed is most commonly used in the dairy sector and are known in the market for their excellent milking prowess, with an average milk production rate of 1590 litres per lactation. Further, they are very hard in nature and are tolerant to adverse conditions, tropical diseases and a number of other such factors. The average life span of the Gir Cow is about 12-15 years.
